MyLanguagePartner ("we", "us", "our") operates the MyLanguagePartner mobile application and website at mylanguagepartner.com.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register.
- Profile information: Native language, target language, skill level, and optional profile photo.
- Usage data: Lessons completed, AI tutor sessions, video call duration, and feature interactions.
- Device information: Device type, OS version, and crash reports.
- Camera and microphone: Used during live video calls and AI tutor sessions only. Not recorded without consent.
- Location: Approximate location (city/region) used optionally to match you with nearby language exchange partners. Precise location is never stored.
- Bluetooth: Used solely to route audio to Bluetooth headsets during calls. No device identifiers stored.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the MyLanguagePartner service
- To personalize AI tutor and lesson recommendations
- To send lesson reminders and service notifications
- To process payments for subscriptions and top-ups
- To diagnose technical issues and prevent fraud
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, and analytics infrastructure.
- Stripe: Payment processing. Card data is never stored on our servers.
- Anthropic / Google AI: AI tutor responses processed via API.
- ElevenLabs / D-ID: Text-to-speech and AI avatar rendering.
4. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Request deletion at support@mylanguagepartner.com. Deleted within 30 days.
5. Children's Privacy
MyLanguagePartner is not directed at children under 13. Contact us immediately if you believe a child has provided data.
6. Security
All data transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords hashed. Firebase Authentication with industry-standard encryption.
